Democratic Palette, 2016, Ethereum DApp
A palette of twelve colours that anyone can set on the Ethereum blockchain by sending a voting transaction.
Every vote for every colour is tracked and the top twelve make up the palette. The only cost of voting is “gas” paid for using Ethereum’s native cryptocurrency, Ether.
Participatory, decentralized art and aesthetics interacts with barriers to participation and the ability to buy democracy.
The images above show various different visual applications of the palette and the use of the GUI to vote for a colour (the GUI appears if you click in the window displaying the canvas).
